Santa Barbara Grand Jury recommends checking immigration status in school etc simply to get better data?

It depends on what the benefit of the data mining is. I don't like the idea of DHS mining info in our school and hospitals. They are all up in everybody's business enough already. I'm not exactly seeing what the benefit is to the schools and hospitals to perform an immigration status check on everyone. I can understand DHS's interest in it, but not the schools.
