Why do teens these days have no respect for clic rock?

Like, what's with teens hating Led Zeppelin or Rod Steward or The Clash? And, yes, I know, there are teens out there that like the older stuff :P I'm one of them! But what's with them not knowing it, and some even hating it? And what's with my mother that likes rap and thinks it's bad I like these bands *_*
