How to ist co-worker who can't get over her demotion.?

I've been in my position for about 4 months now. Quickly, I learned that one woman who was rather curt with me in the beginning had recently been demoted to a lesser position with fewer responsibilities. In this position for 15 years and nearing mid-50's, her pay remained the same but she can NOT let it go and takes every chance to remind us why she won't join our social work events and such. She's totally self-destructive. She blames everyone for the reorganization. I find it ignorable for the most part but would like to help her move on. She calls herself a Christian but harbors these ill feelings and cries all the time. There's only so much empathy we can give. Any REAL advice?
