Las Vegas Memorial Day crowd and the $20 dollar trick?

Be carefully with the 20 dollar trick. Ive done it a couple of times and it does work, however don't expect the Royal suite or anything. I also had a friend try it and he still ended up with a crappy room and the clerk took his 20 bucks. He came back to the front desk but the clerk had gone home for the day and he didn't get a name.
