Active Duty Military and Thieving/Cheating Spouses?

I have a family member who just returned on leave from fighting in Iraq. Upon arrival, he was told by his wife that she wants a divorce and that she had filed bankruptcy for him in his name (she had a Power of Attorney). He also learned that she had not paid any of his bills while he was overseas. Does he have any recourse to stop the bankruptcy and fix his credit and keep his vehicle?
