What do you think about conscientious objectors?

As long as a person considers hIm or herself a conscientious objector before war breaks out then I'm fine with it. It seem that some in the Vietnam era used it just to get out of being in the service. I'm not a conscientious objector and have served myself, but everyone has a right to their beliefs.
