Can catholicism be linked to terrorism?

the use of violence and threats to intimidate or coerce, esp. for political purposes. that is the dictionary.com definition for terrorism. Is it terrorist that the catholic church tells people they will burn in a lake of eternal hellfire if they don't convert? I believe so and would like more opinions on the subject
